STAIR Program
Integrative Therapeutics, Inc. and AANP select Residency Sites for STAIRSM Residency Scholarship Program
The winning residency sites have been selected for the 2009 Integrative Therapeutics (ITI) and American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) STAIRSM Residency Scholarship Program. This unique scholarship offers postgraduate naturopathic physicians the opportunity to work in a truly integrated duel residency.
ITI and AANP are proud to announce the following clinics:
- Integrated Health Center, located in Redmond, WA combines naturopathic, allopathic, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, chiropractic, massage and physical therapy to give the best care possible.
- Brooke Azie-Rentz, ND is a primary care physician specializing in musculoskeletal system disorder, chronic disease and women's health including bioidentical hormones and the Wiley Protocol©.
- Stephanie Baker, MD specializes in chronic disease management, women's health, conventional medicine and improving general health of children & adults.
- Eric Hassid, MD is the founder and medical director of the Institute for Restorative Health located in Davis, California. He is board certified in neurology and fellowship trained in rehabilitation neurology. His areas of interest include functional neurology, optimal brain health management and longevity medicine.
- Marco Vespignani, ND is the medical director of Restorative Health services at the Institute for Restorative Health. He received his naturopathic medicine training from the Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Marco's areas of expertise include neurology and pain management, environmental medicine, nutritional medicine, hormonal balancing and adolescent medicine.
These clinics will play a vital role in the development of the next generation of Naturopaths. Both will provide an outstanding opportunity for the two resident winners (still to be determined).
ITI would also like to thank all of the highly qualified clinics that applied for the 2009 site positions and acknowledge their support and commitment to the future of naturopathic medicine.

Integrative Therapeutics, Inc (ITI®) is pleased to announce its continued sponsorship of the STAIR Residency Scholarship Program in collaboration with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). This unique scholarship will offer two fully paid postdoctoral naturopathic residencies. The residency provides an amazing opportunity for new graduates to experience a truly integrated residency with time spent at both a naturopathic practice and an MD managed
integrative medicine practice.
ITI has been a strong advocate for the Naturopathic community since the company's inception over 30 years ago in Portland, Oregon. Naturopathic physicians have played a key role in the company's development and ITI is proud to partner with the AANP to help ensure future leadership in integrative medicine, foster the expansion of graduate medical education, and support licensing for Naturopathic Physicians.
The STAIR Program reflects ITI's continued commitment to the Naturopathic community. The STAIR Residency Scholarship Program offers postdoctoral Naturopathic Physicians a unique and vital preparatory step for future opportunities and to "step up" to the next level of professional success. These residencies provide real world experience for graduates in practicing natural medicine and running a naturopathic and integrative medicine clinic.

- Jan 26, 2009 - Application deadline
- Feb 23, 2009 - Selection and interview process begins
- April 13, 2009 - Offer letters are mailed
- April 27, 2009 - Deadline for submitting signed statement of inten

Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduating senior or recent ND graduate (within one year) from an accredited US based naturopathic college (Bastyr, NCNM, SCNM, Bridgeport).
- Grades must be of superior or satisfactory performance in all classes.
- Interest in fully paid residency program at leading integrative medicine clinic.
- Successful completion of the NPLEX and ability to secure a license to practice.
Application Requirements:
- Completed Application
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- A letter of personal intent
- Response to three essay questions
- Evaluation from three clinical faculty
